I would like to take my kids on a gold finding adventure we live In Sierra Vista any ideas how to go about it?

My husbands grandparents panned for gold as a living in the Mountains in Mexico. We woulkd like to share a family moment with the kids. Not sure were to go or how to go about it dont want to get in any trouble...or do anything illegal
