Portable lights for a costume?

Hello I need portable lights for a costume I'm making I tried wiring LED lights myself but I'm not very good at it and ended up failing. So I was wandering about alternatives like using a string of LED Christmas which would work great but their not portable. Is there a way of making them portable? Or anything similar that can be used. ((I don't really have the time to order anything online either.))
